The University of Salford and Coventry University are delighted to say we are working together, on behalf of Health Education England, to develop the curricula for Enhanced Clinical Practice (ECP) in Physiotherapy (we are also developing Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Podiatry, Prosthetists and Orthotists, Diagnostic Radiography and Operating Department Practitioners in addition – 7 AHP professions in total).
It is vitally important that the ECP education pathways reflect the professional specific requirements and critically the service priorities across the health and care system. This programme of work has now commenced, and we would welcome you to be involved to help shape this process.
The development of the ECP Curricula aims to create an open framework to meet the needs of trainees, trainers, and employers. ECP is rooted within the development of profession specific knowledge, skills and behaviours, therefore each Allied Health Profession will develop their own expertise to meet the needs of their populations. There is no ‘generic’ ECP role or training, but rather ECP refers to a ‘level’ of practice within a specific profession.
