Health Inequalities in Older Adults #physiotalk 3rd July

The next chat is on Monday 3rd July at our usual time of 8pm BST. This is a chat hosted by the CSP professional network AGILE – or @AGILECSP

They write ‘We want to explore what the physiotherapy community understand by the term health inequalities in relation to older people; their experiences of different types of inequality and ways to tackle inequalities’

Chat questions

  • What do you interpret/understand by the term ‘health inequalities’ particularly in relation to older people?
  • What are your experiences of older people’s health inequalities within your service and are there some inequalities that are frequently overlooked?
  • What digital inequalities do older people experience and how does this affect their ability to manage health conditions? How do we as physiotherapists support them/adapt our management approach?
  • The number of older LGBT+ people is increasing and all too often they can continue to feel excluded, both in spaces set up to support older people and on the LGBT+ scenes. How do we include older LGBT+ within our services?
  • Can you share examples of good practice to tackle health inequalities and provide a good standard of care for older people
