Tweetchats have become very much more difficult to run, as we cannot get transcripts, analytics are troublesome and Tweetdeck is a paid for function of Twitter (X). So in December 2023 we asked you if you wanted the Physiotalk tweetchats to continue – and the polling suggested this was the case, but to move to monthly chats. We did this and ran chats in January, February and March but with limited engagement. We were unable to run a chat in April and now as we head towards our planned chat in May, the team at Physiotalk have decided that it is the right time to put a pause on tweetchats.
Moving forwards
We will not be running planned or regular tweetchats. We will keep the website open so you can access our archive of chat materials and our social media accounts ‘live’ and active.
If an individual or organisation wishes to run a tweetchat on a specific topic then we are more than happy promote and host a chat using the #physiotalk hashtag, but we will not be seeking guest hosts or topics ourselves at present.
Thank you!
From the start of #physiotalk over 10 years ago by Naomi and Janet there have been many people who have joined the Physiotalk team over the years. We remain immensely grateful for the time that so many dedicated volunteers have given to Physiotalk since 2013 and cannot thank you all enough!
We must also thank the tweet -chatters – from our ‘regulars’ to those who dropped in occasionally. You were at the heart of a tweet chat – both questioning and sharing your knowledge willingly. We hope that the information and knowledge shared over tweetchats allowed us to fulfil our brief of helping physiotherapists around the world to learn, share, network & influence.

The numbers
- 300 blog posts
- 238 tweetchats
- Over 230 people chatting in one hour
- 40 thousand twitter followers
- 303 million #Physiotalk impressions during the tweetchats
Thank you all for the last 10 years – and remember if you want to run a specific tweetchat then we can support you to do this – just ask!
