Establishing a Dementia Network #physiotalk Mon 5th December

Our next chat will be on Monday 5th December at 8pm GMT. It will be hosted by @AGILECSP.

AGILE writes

‘On Tuesday 29th December 2022, AGILE and the Chartered Physiotherapists in Mental Health (CPMH) held our first meeting of a new ‘Dementia Network’ for physiotherapists working in this field or with an interest in dementia care.

We were thrilled that 20 people from various clinical roles and areas were able to attend the meeting. It was a great opportunity to get to know others, start to hear about their experiences, and make plans for the future direction of this network. We would like to use this #physiotalk tweetchat to build on our initial discussions and pose some questions that were raised during the meeting to the wider community’.

Chat questions

Q1. Are our roles working with older people with dementia considered to be specialist?

Q2. Have you had any specialist training in dementia care and if so, what did it entail?

Q3. What training would you like to have in dementia care?

Q4. What factors should we be benchmarking against to determine success in dementia care e.g., is it outcome measures, patient satisfaction, carer feedback or any others?

Q5. Would you be interested in joining a ‘Dementia Network’ and if so, what would you like to get out of it?
