Environmental physiotherapy #EnviroPT Mon 6th Nov 8pm GMT

We are delighted to be taking part in the first ever global Environmental Physiotherapy Festival! The actual festival runs from 9th – 12th November, but as that doesn’t quite match up with our usual #physiotalk tweetchat night, we are chatting on Monday 6th November instead. We hope this will warm you all up for the events to follow (event calendar) !

For those new to a tweetchat – this is how easy it is!

1: Search for the hashtag

2: Read the questions and discussion using the hashtag

3: Tweet using the hashtag

BUT – for one night only we are NOT using the #physiotalk hashtag. Instead, as it is part of the festival, we will use #EnviroPT instead

In the era of climate change and environmental concerns, sustainability is a concept that transcends various industries, including healthcare. But how much have we considered our environmental impact as we practice physiotherapy?

Reducing Waste: How much waste do we generate, such as single-use gloves, disposable gowns, and other materials. By adopting reusable alternatives or properly recycling single-use items, could you reduce your environmental footprint?

Energy-Efficient Facilities: Whether you work in an older building or a state of the art setting you could consider sustainability by using energy-efficient lighting, heating, and cooling systems. Can you impact your workplace?

Telehealth and Reduced Travel: Physiotherapists can explore telehealth options to reduce the need for patients to travel to clinics, which not only saves time but also reduces carbon emissions.

Education and Awareness: Raising awareness among physiotherapists and patients about sustainable practices can go a long way in minimizing the eco-impact of physiotherapy.

Could you embrace eco-friendly practice, making conscious choices, and reduce your professional ecological footprint?
